Data Sources & Accuracy

We think you should know exactly where every number on the site comes from. Most of our fundamental data is drawn directly from companies' official filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) — public, primary sources.

How updates work

Prices update several times through each trading day. Fundamentals and financials are refreshed on a regular schedule as companies file with the SEC. Ratings are recomputed from the latest data automatically — see exactly how on our methodology page.

Accuracy & limitations

  • Data is not real-time. Prices and filings can be delayed, and figures may be restated by companies later.
  • Some values are estimates or derived (for example, forward P/E or projected figures) and are labeled as such.
  • We aim for accuracy but cannot guarantee data is complete or error-free — always verify important figures against the original SEC filing.
